So I was doing some browsing and I came across this 1972 Ferrari 365 selling for just shy of $50K:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Other 365s listed on Autotrader of the same model year are selling for well over $200K.

The only real difference I can see is this 365 looks like it's being sold by the owner whereas the other ones are being sold by dealerships.

So is this an amazing Nice Price find or is there something fishy going on?

What do you all think?

Forgot a zero, maybe? It looks pretty nice, which certainly makes it look suspicious.

What's a kidney worth on the open market these days? Asking for a friend.

I was going to guess it needs its engine-out service done, but the article states it was rebuilt 12k KM ago. My guess is either is a combination of a motivated and private seller. Or its a typo and he meant to put $150,000

My guess is a type-o. He probably meant to put a 1 or 2 in front. Call/email and find out.

At the very least, they forgot the 1 in front of the 49,990. That'd still be cheap. These were sort of unloved for years, but are generally regarded as being the best sounding of the old Ferrari V12's. They've been seriously lifted by the market, because you get Daytona performance & soundtrack a half price or less.

its the gt4 part of the car. it's a 4-seater Ferrari, wich makaes the ferrari owners disown it. justr check the values of all ferraris with the word "GT4" is it and you'll see some amazing prices. the ferrari daytona we all love, when found with 4 seats is the 365 gt4. it also uses 12 qts. oil so think about that oil change. the same engine became the 400i's engine and that cara is amazing cheap too....4-seats. the 308gt4 is gaining traction but is still $30k, 4-seats...however its the firsts production v8 they made and only made 2400 of them worldwide so look at those. the problem is the desirability of Ferrari is all about the two-seaters and the 4-seaters can suck it. thats whats in the mind of the old balding old white guy ferrari owners club. some deserving cars are left alone just cause you can take some kids to get ice cream in the back.

I remember reading on an old magazine that the GTC4 have never been appreciated due to its exterior design, to that point that it had been called "the hunchback", for obvious reasons (see pic. below).

"its the gt4 part of the car."

If that's true, then where do these dealers get off asking well over $250K for essentially the same car?

If you're right about the GT4 part causing it to be worth much less, then these classic car dealers selling this car for that much are mega-ripoff artists.

Yeah but these other ad listings from dealers are asking for well over $250K for essentially the same car:

So essentially I'm wondering who is on crack... this private seller selling their 365 for $50K or these dealers trying to sell it for over $250K.

In all cases, these ads have been up for a little while and nobody seems to be in a rush to buy any of them.

I wish I had $50K of pocket change. I'd want to at least have a look at the $50K one and have a Ferrari specialist look at it.
